A simple grounding technique to calm and bring you back to centre

In moments of stress and anxiety, calm yourself with this simple and effective grounding technique that works instantly. 

1. Find a comfortable space to sit with your eyes closed.

2. Begin by taking deep breaths through your nose, completely filling your lungs and inflating your stomach. On the exhale push all of your breath out through your mouth and imagine yourself expelling any negative energy. Repeat this five times.

3. Envision a grounding cord of light running through your body from your head to your toes and down to the Earth's centre.

4. Breathe into this and envision this light spreading slowly through your body until your whole body is filled with light.

5. Take three more deep breaths before slowly opening your eyes.

A sense of calm will wash over your body as you bring yourself back into balance.
